Bassaíl is an accomplished marketing professional with extensive experience at the highest levels of marketing communications. Most recently, Bassaíl has served as Senior Communications Specialist to the Chief Information Officer of OptumRx. Prior to this role, he served as Marketing Manager/Strategist at Verizon Wireless, developing and executing cultural engagement initiatives targeted to the Hispanic, African-American, Asian, small business and LGBTQ segments in 14 states throughout the Midwest.

He has been responsible for expanding Verizon Wireless’ bilingual distribution and the creation and development of the 2015 Emmy Award winning domestic violence awareness campaign from Verizon “Rompamos El Silencio” a well as the Verizon Small Business Series, technology workshops targeted to small business owners.

Prior to Verizon Wireless, Bassaíl was Vice President of Communications for Bank of America, and Vice President, Marketing Communications for one of New Jersey’s leading full-service advertising agency, Brushfire Inc., previously known as Gilbert Whitney & Johns (GW&J) where he handled international accounts such as GPU Energy, Berlitz International, Lucent Technologies, drpaula.com and Western Union. His experience in Washington, D.C. has included work at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and a sting as Press Secretary to Congressman Jaime B. Fuster.

Even though he has held many titles and played several roles, his favorite, most challenging and never ending has been as Joshua’s father. Bassail was born and raised in Puerto Rico and has been living in Chicago, Illinois since 1998.
